The Minute was withdrawn from the Agenda prior to
Cabinet's consideration.

APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR, STATE EMERGENCY SERVICES AND
CIVIL DEFENCE.
Approval was given to a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Major General Brian William
Howard, A.M., M.C. be appointed as Director, State
Emergency Services and Civil Defence, for a term of five
years, as proposed in Cabinet Minute 89-285, dated 30th
August, 1989, submitted by the Minister for Police and
Emergency Services, in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Police and Emergency Services, is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including arrangements for the necessary
medical examination.
8.
INTEREST SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR NON-GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS
(MINUTE NO.2).
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-287, dated 31st August, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Education and Youth
Affairs, in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Education and Youth Affairs is to take
the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.
