LEGISLATION TO PROVIDE FOR THE FUTURE STRUCTURE OF
HIGHER EDUCATION IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-32, dated 14th February, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Education and Youth
Affairs, in relation to this matter, subject to:* the Institute of Early Childhood
being transferred to Macquarie University.

Cabinet also approved of Option 1 (Recommendation 2(h)),
subject to the reconsideration of Option 2,
(Recommendation 2(i)), if the Commonwealth Government
indicates its support.
Cabinet also indicated that it would consider the
Albury-Wodonga/Australia National University link, if
supported by the Commonwealth.
The Minister for Education and Youth Affairs is to take
the necessation action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.

WILLS, PROBATE AND ADMINISTRATION (AMENDMENT) BILL,
1989.
Approval was given to the provisions of the Wills,
Probate and Administration (Amendment) Bill, 1989, as
summarised in Cabinet Minute 89-41, dated 17th February,
1989, submitted by the Attorney General in relation to
this matter.
NATIONAL PARKS AND WILDLIFE (MARINE MAMMALS PROTECTION)
AMENDMENT BILL, 1989.
Approval was given to the provisions of the National
Parks and Wildlife (Marine Mammals Protection) Amendment
Bill, 1989, as summarised in Cabinet Minute 89-34, dated
17th February, 1989, submitted by the Minister for the
Environment in relation to this matter.
