Ministers raised a number of issues.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE POLICE REGULATION
TO ESTABLISH A POLICE USER PAYS SCHEME.

ACT, 1899,
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-234, dated 30th June, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Police and Emergency Services in
relation to this matter, subject to:consultation with the Department of Sport,
Recreation and Racing, and representatives of
sporting organisations, concerning implementation;
and
the qualifications in Treasury Advice of 27th July,
1989.
The Minister for Police and Emergency Services is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.

PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENTS FOR
THE THIRD RUNWAY.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-269, dated 7th August, 1989, submitted
jointly by the Deputy Premier, Minister for State
Development, and Public Works and the Minister for Local
Government, and Planning, in relation to this matter,
subject to:the word "gazettal", in Recommendation 3.1(a),
being replaced by the word "preparation".
The Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, and
Public Works and the Minister for Local Government, and
Planning are to take the necessary action to give effect
to Cabinet's decision.
