CLARIFICATION OF POLICY IN RELATION TO RELEASE OF
LIFE SENTENCE PRISONERS.
This matter was withdrawn prior to Cabinet.
8.
ESTABLISHMENT OF OFFENDERS REVIEW BOARD (SERIOUS
OFFENCES) - PROPOSED LEGISLATION.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained
in Cabinet Minute 89-215 dated 16th June, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Corrective Services
in relation to this matter; subject to:*
Recommendation 3.1 (e) specifying the Director
of the Prison Medical Service, rather than the
Secretary of the Department of Health, and;
consultation with the Attorney General's
Department during drafting of the Bill.
The Minister for Corrective Services is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the
necessary legislation.

PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF CREDIT ACT 1984.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained
in Cabinet Minute 89-229 dated 28th June, 1989,
submitted by the Minister for Business and Consumer
Affairs in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Business and Consumer Affairs is
to take the necessary action to give effect to
Cabinet's decision, including the preparation of
the necessary legislation.
