PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO SECTION 500 OF THE LOCAL
GOVERNMENT ACT, 1919 RELATING TO WORKS ON PRIVATE LANDS.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-207, dated 1st June, 1989 submitted by
the Minister for Local Government, and Planning in
relation to this matter.

The Minister for Local Government and Planning is to
take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision, including the preparation of the necessary
legislation.
STATE AGREEMENT TO RATIFICATION BY AUSTRALIA OF
INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANISATION CONVENTION NO. 159
CONCERNING VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION AND EMPLOYMENT
(DISABLED PERSONS), 1983.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-209, dated 2nd June, 1989, submitted
by the Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment,
in relation to this matter.
The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is
to take the necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's
decision.
APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR-GENERAL, DEPARTMENT
DEVELOPMENT.

Approval was given to a recommendation being made to the
Governor-in-Council that Dr. John Richard Saunders be
appointed as Director-General, Department of State
Development, for a term of 5 years as proposed in
Cabinet Minute 89-235, dated 13th July, 1989 submitted
by the Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development,
and Public Works in relation to this matter.
The Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, and
Public Works is to take the necessary action to give
effect to Cabinet's decision, including arrangements for
the necessary medical examination.
