PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE VICTIMS COMPENSATION ACT,
1987.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 88-283, dated 20th September, 1988,
submitted by the Attorney General, in relation to this
matter, subject to:the Justice Committee of Cabinet addressing
the scope of offences to be covered in the
scheme, and reporting back to Cabinet; and
•
the requirement that prisoners, who receive
earnings, pay the levy.
The Attorney General is to take the necessary action to
give effect to Cabinet's decision, including the
preparation of the necessary legislation.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE NATIONAL PARKS AND WILDLIFE
ACT, 1974 RELATING TO INTERSTATE PLANS OF MANAGEMENT OF
NATIONAL PARKS, WILDERNESS AREAS, NATURE RESERVES AND
OTHER LANDS
Approval was given to amendments to the National Parks
and Wildlife (Amendment) Bill and Cognate Bill
(currently before Parliament), as outlined in the
recommendations contained in Cabinet Minute 89-11 dated,
24th January, 1989, submitted by the Minister for the
Environment, in relation to this matter.
The Minister for the Environment is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE WASTE DISPOSAL ACT, 1970.
Approval was given to the recommendations contained in
Cabinet Minute 89-7 dated, 19th January,1989, submitted
by the Minister for the Environment, in relation to this
matter, subject to;the new Authority being called The Waste
Management Authority of New South Wales.
The Minister for the Environment is to take the
necessary action to give effect to Cabinet's decision,
including the preparation of the necessary legislation.
