5.1 IMPLEMENTATION RISK
5.1.1
The design check category as described in table 2 and the implementation risk
classification as described in table 1 are NOT the same. Whilst the design risk could be
low this does not mean the implementation is also low. This also does not mean the a
‘standard solution’ is always automatically considered a low implementation risk
classification.
5.1.2
Figure 1 shows an example of a structure that is classified according to the consequence
of failure based upon where it is built. The design of the structure is unchanged, it is a
standard solution, but the implementation risk can be variable dependent upon location.

Risks relating to design (i.e., design risk) relate to the foreseeable loading on a
structure. The loading could also be influenced by the location, i.e., wind loading,
surcharging etc.
