The program’s vision is tocut the cancer death rate by half within 25 yearsand improve the lives of cancer survivors. Toachieve this, the Moonshot mobilizes researchers,clinicians, patients and advocates.Ford was invited to serve on the External ScientificPanel for the Cancer Moonshot Biobank, whichcollects donated blood and tissue samples fromcancer patients. Toll is part of the Cancer MoonshotSmoking Cessation Forum, which seeks to provideguidance for cancer centers to build tobaccocessation programs for cancer patients.Additional distinctions:•Raymond N. DuBois, M.D.,Ph.D., director of MUSCHollings Cancer Center, wasinducted as a fellow into theRoyal College of Physicians(RCP). The RCP wasestablished in 1518 by a royalcharter from King Henry VIII.Fellows are senior clinicianswho have demonstratedachievement and impact onthe field of medicine. TheRCP’s mission is to “driveimprovements in health andhealthcare through advocacy,education and research.”Celebrating 30 Years•Evan Graboyes, M.D., directorof the Survivorship and CancerOutcomes Research initiativeat Hollings, was named vicechair of NRG Oncology’shealth disparities committee.NRG Oncology is acooperative group conductingmulti-institutional, federallyfunded cancer clinical trials.Graboyes will help incorporatehealth disparities research inNRG Oncology trials andexpand the committee’s healthdisparities educational andmentoring efforts.7
