OVERVIEW OF
LISTENING SESSIONS
The purpose of listening sessions was to provide a flexible format for stakeholders and community partners to share
input on the Strategic Plan. Listening sessions were hosted by external groups with guidance and technical assistance
provided by Maryland State Department of Education staff. The number of participants in each session ranged from
small to large groups where facilitators posed the same questions in each group and note-takers recorded participant
responses. Listening sessions were held in-person and virtually.
