always on
like him
he uses it on everyone
beaming and gleaming
teeth as a weapon
it works too
people fall for it
when he turns that smile on them
they melt right into the carpet
what a guy
he turned it on me once
but I ducked
just in time
the smile shot right over my head
and out an open window
now, I wait
contentedly
while the smile flies
across the rivers and the oceans
down The Champs-Élysées
past the pyramids
through the O in The Hollywood
Sign
in and out
and up and over
Toyko neon
I am happy to wait
while the smile
circumnavigates the globe
before returning and smashing
into the back of his head
like a fucking anvil
