Tilt & Turn Gearing
Information for Ordering:
1. Window Material
UPVC, aluminium, wooden or timber/ali clad.
2. Revealed or Concealed
When the window is in the closed position, if you can
see gearing on the hinge side this is a revealed system
(sometimes called ‘face 昀椀xed’).
3. Handing
Looking at the window from the inside, if the handle is on
the left it is RIGHT HAND gearing.
4. Tilt First or Turn First
The majority of windows in the UK are tilt 昀椀rst. To
determine, start with the window in the closed position
and note whether the 昀椀rst movement is for it to tilt or to
turn.

5. Sash Size
Measure the rebate size (the smaller dimension taken
from the inner edge of the sash opener that the gearing
昀椀ts into). When this is not possible, provide the overall
sash size.
6. Gearing Manufacturer
Check the main drive gear for any stamping.
7. Eurogroove Position
Measure from the centre of the eurogroove to the edge of
the sash, also called the ‘axis’ - this will be either 9mm or
13mm.
8. Make of Pro昀椀le
Remove and check the back of the keeps.
