Cylinders
1. Identify Cylinder Type
Euro
The most common type of cylinder on PVC doors. Can be
operated by a key on both sides or a key and thumbturn.
Also available as a half cylinder.
Oval
Commonly used on mortice locks in aluminium and wooden
doors. This type of cylinder is operated by a key on both
sides or a key and thumbturn and is available as a half
cylinder.

B
A cylinder is measured by the distances from either end to the centre of
the screw hole (A and B). The size of the cylinder is then said to be A/B,
with the smaller size 昀椀rst. For example, if the A distance is 35mm and the
B distance is 45mm, the cylinder would be 35/45. The exception is with
thumbturn cylinders where the thumb size comes 昀椀rst, e.g. T45/35.
