MATERIALS IN OUR FURNITURE
FORGING
The metalwork we use in our furniture is made from raw, untreated steel,
which means the surface will naturally age and develop a beautiful patina
over time. If desired, it can be sealed with a non-water-based clear lacquer.
Forging is a traditional method of working with metal by heating it and
shaping it with hammer strikes or pressure. We use steel from Poland. When
heated, the steel becomes malleable and can be shaped. The forging
process strengthens the metal, making it more durable by compacting the
material and removing impurities.
In addition to being a practical method of working metal, forging is also an
art form. Our blacksmiths create unique products, such as fire baskets, log
holders, and other interior details.
