The results clearly show that it is in our value chain we 昀椀nd the highest emissions and we already started working
to reduce the impacts by engaging the suppliers, product design and operation optimisation. With energy crisis
impacting businesses across the world the reduction of energy consumption is more relevant than ever. As both
昀椀nancial and environmental investment, Scope 1 and 2 are our top CO2e reduction priority as we have direct control
over it.
With continuous business growth, we already see some positive changes in our emissions, when comparing economic intensities with previous 昀椀nancial year. Keeping in mind that in previous years we still had huge uncertainties
in Scope 3.11, the comparison does not fully cover all value chain, we do want to celebrate both data collection
improvement and reduced CO2e intensities.
Table 1. Micro Matic A/S CO2e intensities (metric tonne CO2e / mDKK Revenue):
Scope
FY21/22
FY22/23
Scope 1 intensity
0,61
0,55
Scope 2 intensity
2,01
2,15
Scope 3 intensity (Excluding Use of
sold Products)
40,13
32,74
Scope 1, 2 & 3 intensity (excluding
Use of sold Products)
42,75
35,44
When compared economic emission intensities, noticeable reduction trough value chain is seen. Only Scope 2
shows 0,14 tCO2e / mDKK Revenue increase. This change could be attributed to both changes in emission factors
and energy losses through supply chain (Scope 3.3) being allocated to this scope with changes in calculations (See
appendix).
When excluding Scope 3.11, the decrease in economic intensity is even more prominent reaching more than 7
tCO2e / mDKK Revenue. That means, that amount of CO2e we save per mDKK we make we could 昀椀ll 2 average hot
air balloons.
