OUR TOTAL
CARBON FOOTPRINT
For the second year in a row, we are accounting for our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to understand our footprint
and identify ways of reducing our emissions. To address our responsibility in combatting climate change we want to
adhere to best practice, and so have mapped out our emissions across the entire value chain following the Greenhouse
Gas Protocol.
FY2021/2022 data was in some parts incomplete. Emissions were still estimated , using a combination of
calculation and extrapolation methods, as per the technical guidance of the GHG Protocol1. For this reason, the
results were subject to uncertainty. As we continued to improve our data collection and calculation methods,
we are able to improve our data maturity. The changes in calculation methods makes it dif昀椀cult to compare the
emissions between both years. Because of that, we will only discuss the results of FY2022/2023.
It is important to include the entire Group of Micro Matic. With Porta joining the group in late 2022, Micro Matic
now spans 17 business units across the globe. As we account for all applicable GHG categories we will continue to
improve our data maturity. Come next year, we will adjust this year’s carbon footprint calculations accordingly to be
able to monitor changes in emission levels over time.

Total Baseline
We 昀椀nd our companywide CO2e emissions in FY22/23 amount to roughly 203.619 tonnes of CO2e, including
emissions from use of sold products. Our own operations (scopes 1 and 2) make up 1.118 and 4.408 tonnes,
respectively. Most of our total carbon footprint comes from our value chain (scope 3) with 198.408 tonnes.
FY22/23 was the year of growth for Micro Matic group. This were a 昀椀rst year, where our company was not facing
impacts from COVID-19 and with a record braking 昀椀nancial year it could become our baseline year for future CO2e
reductions.
