THE DAY LEWIS AWARDS SHOW
In November 2020, the Principal team successfully delivered the Day Lewis Virtual Awards Show to celebrate the
work of our nation’s front-line heroes, winning the Best Celebratory or Awards Event at the inaugural micebook V
Awards for their outstanding solution. One year on, the rise of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 resulted in the decision
being taken to host the event virtually again.
The family show had to exceed all expectations set by the previous year and offer something new and forward-thinking to both celebrate and delight the watching audience in over 1,200 homes of Day Lewis colleagues, their suppliers, and their sponsors. The Principal team delivered a one hour fully produced TV-style show that revolved around
the stars of Day Lewis, featuring VT storylines and concepts that represented colleagues from across the business.
With celebrity host Joel Dommett at the helm, the evening started with high energy music, an entertaining illusionist
and impressionist, before continuing with surprise performances from Alexandra Burke, and of course, the awards
themselves. Colleagues, sponsors and suppliers were encouraged to watch the show with their households and a
prize was offered for the best family selfie taken within the virtual photo booth that was integrated into Hopin.
With a 91% turnout and over 2200 platform chat messages, the feedback and engagement levels were incredible.
Judges said the event ‘hit all the notes in connecting their audience to their key messages and creating some emotional resonance, thanks to the special guests and overall family approach'.
