different from others is that when we endorse a candidate
it is because they have shown a commitment to bettering
our profession. There is no loyalty to: “D”, “R” or “NPA”
(that is no party affiliation not nasopharyngeal airway). It’s
what they have done for us or what they are willing to do for
us. Our endorsement not only allows candidates to use our
logo, but also receive political funds and most importantly,
manpower for their campaigns. The person you assist off
the bedroom floor (regularly) has a mailbox full of political
flyers. This probably means that while they call us out to
assist them back into bed or chair, they also make it a point
to vote in every election.
Our “Eggs and Kegs” crew does such an impressive job.
These are monthly get-togethers, not everyone has eggs by
the way. Thank you to Marisol Vargas, Christopher Hides,
Gil Velasquez Jr and of course Chef Errol Johnson. This is a
great chance for both our retirees and actives to get together, sharing stories, laughs and of course really good food.
If you aren’t being notified via text message of union
events, please call the Union Hall (305) 593-6100 to make
sure your information is accurate in our database.
If you get either confused, do not worry, it gets forwarded
to the appropriate email. This is a great way of providing
suggestions on how to make your yoUNION better.
