The Aden Perry Hero Life Ring Initiative
The Aden Perry Hero Life Ring Initiative has ofocially
arrived in Miami-Dade County. The orst stop was in Doral
Glades Park, with a second stop just a few days later on the
lake at The Fire Tower, Local 14039s Union Hall.
I created the Aden Perry
Hero Life Ring Initiative in
honor of my son, Aden, who
died a hero. Aden lost his
life trying to save the life of
someone else.

by bodies of water so that the next time a water emergency
occurred, there was a means available to save lives.
Life rings are a proven method for saving lives. They just
have to be available! I truly believe
that had there been a life ring available
that night by the lake, Aden would have
thrown the ring to the driver of the car,
and he would still be here. I could have
thrown it myself because I cannot swim,
so I would never have jumped in.
Aden and I were out walking our dog
one evening when we witnessed a car
lose control, crossing over the path
where we were walking, going up onto
the embankment, then back onto the
road, over the median and through a
tree, before ultimately ending up in a
lake. Aden and I started running to the
lake to help. As we were running, Aden
called 911, then gave me the phone
and said,
