William McAllister IV
President
President’s Report
failed to maintain its focus on the service we provide, and
the burdens shouldered by those on the streets. Progress
has not come from within but has been forced from the
outside. And yet, here we are, seeing movement. A water
tender deployed mid-pay period in a rental truck, TRT
suppression put in service early, long-overdue discussions
on a 昀椀reboat for the south end. These are not gestures. They
are necessities. Long demanded and 昀椀nally addressed.
The leadership in place today once inspired excitement
when they rose through the ranks. If this renewed focus on
operations is real, if it is sustained, we will welcome it. But
we have been here before. Trust is not given. It is earned.
These pages are blank, but the ink that follows
must tell a story of real, lasting change.
