This alternative fuelemits 56% less CO2 than coal. Other alternative fuels produced include paper rejects,paper sludge, refuse derived fuel (RDF), solid recovered fuel (SRF), and tire derivedfuel (TDF). It has a large networkof waste suppliers that help ensure it has the right feed (quantity and quality) toproduce its alternative fuel year round. As product acceptance grows and demandoutstrips supply, N+P is planning to build 15 additional manufacturing sites (from itscurrent 2) across Europe by 2025.MERCURIA BIOFUELS BRUNSBÜTTEL (MBB)Mercuria Biofuels Brunsbüttel (MBB), fully owned by Mercuria, is strategically locatedat the crossroads of the Kiel Kanal and Elbe River in Northern Germany. The facility isISCC certified, and produces RED compliant sustainable biodiesel fuel. The facility iscapable of producing 250,000 metric tons of high-quality biodiesel annually from usedcooking and vegetable oils.SOUTH BEND ETHANOLAs evidence of our tangible efforts in this regard, during the past 2 years we haveundertaken over 30 million USD in improvements to strengthen the operations of US,Indiana-located South Bend Ethanol’s corn-based ethanol production, and a numberof smaller projects across many of its other interests which will further improve thefacility’s environmental compliance programs and in turn will help to minimize theirenvironmental impacts while concurrently improving facility reliability.58
