INTRODUCTION
As one of the world’s largest commodity trading
companies, Mercuria continues to adhere to the
highest legal and ethical standards in all of its business activities across the globe. Our well founded
reputation for integrity and excellence is one of our
biggest assets.
In September 2015, the United Nations adopted a
set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
These global goals lay out a 15-year agenda to
“mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, reduce inequality and tackle climate change.” In formulating the SDGs, the U.N. acknowledged “the
role of the diverse private sector, ranging from
micro-enterprises to cooperatives to multinationals” in supporting the Goals. These goals have become a part of our thinking and decision making.
Mercuria fully supports the UN Guiding Principles
on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) which
were developed by John Ruggie and his team in
consultation with many stakeholder groups (often referred to as the “Ruggie Principles”).
Our Code of Conduct outlines Mercuria’s objectives to work in a proactive, open and co-operative
manner with all of its regulators around the globe,
we conduct all of our activities in compliance with
local and international laws and regulations.
Mercuria is subject to physical, financial and environmental regulations across the globe in all of
the countries in which it trades and operates. To
ensure we are compliant with the many laws and
regulations applicable to us, Mercuria has an extensive Compliance Programme, which is mandated and endorsed by Mercuria’s management team
and implemented and overseen by the Mercuria
Compliance team.
Mercuria’s Responsibilities paper sets out how
we, as a company, adhere to laws and regulations,
maintain high standards for ethics and morality
and respect human rights whilst generating value for our shareholders and other stakeholders.
It also demonstrates Mercuria’s commitment to
ensuring that all employees maintain the highest
level of integrity and transparency in the performance of their individual and collective roles and
responsibilities.

products and dry bulk commodities, we are aware
of our responsibility to environmental and economic development of the regions where we operate, through conscious and responsible management, thorough due diligence and monitoring.
We prioritize mitigation of risks and we fully analyse potential impacts, we seek zero harm for all
