FROM THE CEO,
MARCO DUNAND
Dear Stakeholders of Mercuria,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our first Corporate Responsibility paper. As a global physical
commodity trading company, Mercuria is proud to be able to contribute in a positive way to the global supply
chain. At Mercuria, we pride ourselves on our compliance culture and have spent years developing the controls and due diligence aspects of our business; we are committed to providing a safe working environment
for our employees around the world. We take very seriously our role in the supply chain and recognize that
there are areas where we can add real value and expertise in helping to make the movement, transformation
and storage of commodities safer. We are also committed to assisting in the global transition to greener and
cleaner energy, we recognize that a smooth transition is complex and we feel that we are well positioned
and can bring valuable experience and knowledge to positively contribute.
At Mercuria, we feel it is important not to be complacent and to continuously look at how we can improve
and enhance everything we do; we will always strive to do better.
We are investing in our technology and infrastructure to more systematically track our KPIs, which will enable us to continue to make improvements and report on our activities.
This report is designed as communication tool, to enable all of our stakeholders to understand more about
our business, our processes and our performance both from a historic and also a forward looking perspective. We have chosen to use this report to explain where Mercuria needs to make improvements and to
communicate on how we plan to make these improvements. We recognize that there is always more we can
be doing.
I firmly believe that, as a company, our culture is our most defining asset. The management team here recognize the importance of setting the right tone and ensuring that all employees feel empowered to provide
feedback and challenge thought processes and existing practices. Our reputation is everything, we feel
strongly about being a positive participant in the global markets and we want our people to feel proud to
work for Mercuria, for these reasons Compliance and best ethical practices are central to all of our activities
and our decisions.
We appreciate feedback and welcome open discussion with all of our stakeholders, which we believe helps
us to set our policies, procedures and strategies appropriately.
We hope this paper is informative and will be used by the readers to assist us in our efforts. Marco Dunand,
Chief Executive Officer
