ACTIVITIES
Commodity trading is at the heart of Mercuria’s
business, therefore it is essential that we identify
how we could potentially be infringing on human
rights and the environment. Mercuria’s trading is
global, multi-commodity and asset-backed; we
source, ship, store, blend and transact. We trade
in the following commodities, each presenting
their own sustainability issues, we always consider each asset class in its own right to ensure
that we appropriately due diligence, risk assess
and risk mitigate;
Crude Oil - Mercuria is one of the world’s largest independent traders of crude oil - source
barrels worldwide (ideally located in all major oil
trading regions) and have access to all the key
crude grades.
Fuel Oil – Leading trader of fuel oil; 40% of
our volume is supplied as feedstock.
Middle Distillates - jet fuel, heating oil and diesel globally and work with our partners to meet
all their needs incorporating logistics, finance
and risk management.
Gasoline and Naphtha - competes efficiently in the gasoline, naphtha and reformate world
markets. Environment specification varies widely by region; we utilize our extensive logistic, storage and blending capabilities to guarantee delivery of the right quality in the right volume at the
right time.
Petrochemicals – combination of physical off
take and marketing agreements, olefin-to-polyolefin tolling, and select investment in high-yield
strategic assets throughout the petrochemical
supply chain.
Biofuels – Mercuria operates within the Renewable Energy Directive framework and we
have developed a fully audited system for product sustainability and traceability. Mercuria and
its entities are ISCC certified. Mercuria owns
and operates a manufacturing plant dedicated
to producing biodiesel from used cooking oil,
as well as an ethanol plant producing fuel grade
ethanol from corn.
