PEOPLE 2023
individuals from seeking medical attention to
help ensure their well-being. We will
investigate instances where an injury occurred,
or
significant
near-misses
where
circumstances almost resulted in injuries. We
encourage and expect the involved individuals
to assist in those investigations to help our
understanding of the factors contributing to
the event, and work to ensure that persons
suffering injuries are not subject to any
negative or punitive impact where their actions
were not willfully contrary to policies,
procedures or training.
During the 2023 calendar year while the
substantial majority of our operations were
conducted with no mishaps, we did have 8
instances where individuals experienced
injuries where formal medical attention was
required, but where the individual fully
recovered / healed with no lasting impact.
There were no work-related instances reported
during 2023 where Mercuria’s employees or
contractors working on our behalf suffered
more serious injuries resulting in permanent
disabilities or death.
As Mercuria continues to grow and expand its
businesses, we are also mindful of the inherent
risks tied to all our physical activities.
Accordingly we will continue our endeavors to
reinforce training and further improve our
operations with the aim of mitigating or
minimizing against circumstances that have
potential to result in injuries.
More on our health & safety can be found on
our CSR website.
