This course meets 2.5 hours a day and introduces students to the fundamental concepts of
criminal justice and crime scene investigation while also incorporating the use of drones in law
enforcement and forensic analysis. Topics covered include the structure, history and operation
of the criminal justice system, the legal and ethical standards of criminal investigations, how to
apply forensic techniques to collect, preserve, and analyze evidence at a crime scene, physical
evidence types, crime scene documentation and the application of drones in crime scene
documentation. Students will learn how drones can enhance the ef昀椀ciency and accuracy of
crime scene mapping, surveillance, and evidence gathering. Through lectures, case studies, and
practical exercises, students gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of professionals
within the criminal justice system and the importance of adhering to proper procedures to
ensure the integrity of the investigative process. *Program fees may apply for uniforms.
