● Spend time in Hebden Bridge, a town famous for the
many independent shops and boutiques
Halifax Piece Hall was built in 1779 to trade ‘pieces’ of
cloth and is now the UK’s sole surviving cloth hall. Over its
250 years, it has been a trading place, a gathering for
Victorian political rallies and a wholesale market. In 2017 it
reopened as a visitor attraction after a multi-million pound
restoration with independent shops, cafes and restaurants,
galleries and heritage visitor centre. We carry on to Hebden
Bridge - a town renowned for independent shops and
boutiques, where buying local is a way of life. The
Rochdale Canal runs through the centre of town creating a
picturesque scene aside the bohemian streets.
