Day 1: Travel to the Sidmouth, and check into your
great hotel. A four-course Table d’hote Dinner plus
coffee is served each evening.
Day 2: We take a leisurely drive along the coast to
the seaside town of Seaton for a return journey on
the delightful narrow gauge Seaton Tramway. We
then travel the short distance back to the regency
town of Sidmouth described by poet laureate,
John Betjeman, as “A town caught still in a
timeless charm”.
Day 3: A delight is in store today with a steam train
ride on the South Devon Railway alongside the
picturesque River Dart. In the afternoon we return
to the Exe estuary to visit Powderham Castle, a

forti昀椀ed manor house enjoying a unique,
picturesque setting within an ancient deer park. A
private guided tour will reveal the 600 years of
history of one of Devon’s oldest family homes,
now the home of the Earl and Countess of Devon.
Day 4: Today we start with a visit to Exmouth for a
little free time. We then travel to the privately
owned Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Spay 300
years of horticultural history, these superbly
landscaped Grade 1 listed gardens are set in the
picturesque Otter Valley. A shell house,
countryside museum, church, Palm House, and
Orangery add to the uniqueness of this popular
attraction.
Day 5: Reluctantly we leave our fabulous hotel and
head for home with stops along the way.
Day 1: Outward journey with suitable stops enroute.
Day 2: Our excursion takes us to Honiton, a lively
market town famous for its lace and pottery. (It’s
also market day today) and Exmouth, the gateway
to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with two
miles of glorious sandy beach.
Day 3: We visit the City of Exeter, this once-walled
city is full of history, interesting buildings, and an
attractive Cathedral.
Day 4: Our tour takes us to Lyme Regis where we
allow you plenty of time to explore this very quaint
seaside town, Colyton where we board the Seaton
Tramway for a scenic journey down the Axe Valley
to Seaton.
Day 5: Sadly, we depart for our journey home
stopping en route for suitable breaks.
