The Lake District
Grange-over-Sands is a quiet seaside retreat
on the Southern tip of the Cartmel peninsula,
between the mountains and the sea, and only
7 miles from Windermere. A pretty resort, with
an Edwardian 昀氀avour and a mild climate,
resting on the shores of Morecambe Bay. The
estuary and the countryside around Grange
are fascinating places for nature enthusiasts,
and has some of the 昀椀nest parks and gardens
on the Cumbrian coast.

Day 1: Outward journey to Cumbria, calling
at Barton Grange en route. On arrival collect
your 3 complimentary drinks vouchers.
Day 2: A half-day excursion to Morecambe,
and a short drive back to the hotel for lunch,
where soup and sandwiches are served. You
are then free to relax in the hotel or have a
stroll through Grange Over Sands.
Day 3: Today we travel through some of the
most picturesque towns and villages in the
Lake District, enjoying views of Ambleside
and Grasmere. Then we travel to Bowness
where we have time to explore, before going
onto Keswick. A packed lunch will be
provided for the trip.
Day 4: After breakfast, we travel to Ulverston

for a half-day excursion, leaving time to enjoy
an included packed lunch, before returning to
the hotel early afternoon.
Day 5: Sadly we leave the Cumbria Grand
Hotel after breakfast making one short
comfort stop, arriving home early lunchtime.

Day 1: Travel to Grange-over-Sands with a stop at
Morecambe where lunch is served on board along
with coffee and treats, a packed lunch can also be
provided.
Day 2: Take a scenic trip through the heart of the
Lake District to the tourist town of Keswick, before
continuing to Ullswater for a cruise on a 'steamer'
from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding. Return via the
narrow, but beautiful Kirkstone Pass.
Day 3: Enjoy a one-way steam train journey
through the beautiful Leven Valley on the Lakeside
and Haverthwaite Railway, before boarding a
delightful cruise along Lake Windermere,
England's largest lake, from Lakeside to Bownesson-Windermere. Bowness is popular all year round
and people come here to sail on the lake or just to
relax and savour the atmosphere and the town's
delightful setting.
Day 4: Full steam ahead to Western Lake District
for a nostalgic trip back in time on the Ravenglass
& Eskdale Railway, affectionately known by the
locals as 'La'al Ratty'. Enjoy a return trip on
Lakeland's oldest and longest railway from the
delightful coastal village of Ravenglass through
two glorious valleys to the foot of England's
highest mountains. A visit to Ulverston time
permitting.
Day 5: Homeward bound today with a stop in
Kendal.

of Skiddaw, before continuing to England’s most
beautiful lake, Ullswater, for a cruise on a ‘steamer’
