BC’S TOP EMPLOYERS (2025)
Redbrick’s foundation is a sense of community

Technologies Inc.
for the past three years, says her
employer defies the stereotype
of people in her profession
“sitting in a dark room by
themselves, coding.”
In her three years with the
company, she observes, she
has experienced nothing but a
welcoming collegiality. “All of our
teams are very collaborative. My
favourite thing is the support, and
how it feels like my co-workers
and I are all going in one direction
together, making sure no one
is left behind.”
The support Peverley has
experienced at Redbrick includes
the company’s investment in
upskilling its team – often
before members are full-time
employees. While working on
her software engineering degree
at the University of Victoria, she
completed two four-month co-op
placements at the firm, which
involve about 20 students each
year, about 40 per cent of whom
go on to be hired by Redbrick.
“We really foster our younger
employees,” says Emily Hann,
Redbrick’s director of people
and culture. “We love supporting youth in our communities,
teaching them about the tech
industry by sponsoring university
hackathons and participating
in events held through Junior
Achievement BC.
“We value the fact that our people are the main drivers behind
our success,” Hann continues. “So,
we hold a lot of value in taking
care of each other. This includes
taking care of our well-being –
which we do with our flexible
work schedules, family-friendly
programs and policies, and a
unique, holistic approach to our
benefit offerings.
“We also do this from a personal
and professional growth perspective through career-development
opportunities and really empowering and supporting our team
members to unlock their full
potential in a culture where it’s OK
to take risks and fail.”
The company, which started in
2011 as a software developer, has
expanded to acquire five portfolio
companies in Canada and the
U.S., with an office in Minneapolis
– Peverley is employed by one
called Shift. “Redbrick builds and
acquires software companies that
help digital entrepreneurs thrive,”
says Hann. “Through resultsdriven marketing and a unique
shared-services team, Redbrick
gives them a competitive edge.”

In May 2024, Redbrick and its

certification is a formal commitment to creating positive change,
growing our sustainable impact,
