Maghull9s Best Friend:
Dr John Rowlands
(1939-2022)
Dr John Rowlands in Kathmandu
A beau}ful haven, in the process of green
renova}on, next to the medical centre in the
centre of Maghull, has been renamed
8Rowlands Dell9, as a 昀椀琀ng tribute to Maghull9s
best friend - the late Dr John Rowlands.
John9s compassion, commitment, humour and
intellect as a pioneering GP and co-founder of
the Maghull Medical Centre and local historian
was unrivalled, achieving countless bene昀椀ts for
our grateful community, which were echoed in
the overwhelming number of accounts of his
kindness by everyone who knew him.
(Obituary1). We really can9t think of anyone
who has given more to Maghull, consequently
we hope 8Rowlands Dell9 will be a living legacy
to commemorate and celebrate his immense
contribu}on, whilst con}nuing his promo}on
of health and wellness for everyone.
