DoorPosts - Flipbook - Page 75
Mezuzah is a Hebrew word meaning
doorpost. More commonly, it refers
to two sections from the Book of
Deuteronomy written on parchment
and affixed to the doorposts of Jewish
homes, businesses, and public buildings.
The Marcus National Blood Services Centre in
Ramle, Israel, needed some 450 mezuzot for its
many doorways. To find the best designs for the
most prominent areas in the building, Magen
David Adom UK held a competition.
This book spotlights the students and graduates
of the Department of Ceramics and Glass Design
at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in
Jerusalem who rose to the challenge.
