The Marcus National
Blood Services Centre
Officially opened in May 2022, the Marcus National
Blood Services Centre is believed to be the world’s most
secure national blood bank. It is designed to protect
its vital resources against war, terrorism, missile strike,
cyber-attack, and natural disasters such as earthquakes.
Much of the facility is underground, defending it
against conventional attack but also from chemical
and biological weapons. The project will also guarantee
Israel’s blood supply in the face of the anticipated
