Our Mission
The mission of The 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia is to improve
the quality of life within our communities, and enhance educational and
economic opportunities.
About Us
The overall concept of The 100 began in 1963 in New York City when a group
of concerned African American men began to meet to explore ways of
improving the conditions in their community. Since inception, the vision
has materialized to be shared by more than 110 chapters with over 10,000
members reaching over 125,000 underserved, underrepresented minority
youth annually. Our motto, “What They See Is What They’ll Be” very succinctly
expresses how our programmatic services rendered to disadvantaged,
disenfranchised and low-income youth and families positively change their
trajectory.
Our local chapter, The 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia was founded
in June 1996 after a group led by Sam Hart, Sr., Virgil Adams, and Billy Pitts
decided the Macon-Middle Georgia area, and specifically Macon at the time,
could benefit from the programmatic approach of The 100.
