IT Enhancements
Morrison Telecom Services have been upgrading all computers from
Microsoft Office 2010 to Microsoft Office 2016. This upgrade is happening
alongside the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Upgrading to Microsoft Office 2016 ensures
Morrison Telecom Services can make the most
of the updated technology bringing a whole
host of additional features and benefits to
support you in your everyday work. The upgrade
happens in the background of your computer
meaning you are not required to do anything
during the installation period.
MFA is an added layer of security used when
accessing Morrison Telecom Services systems
(e.g. email, TELNET, documents etc.) via
client, home or public networks. MFA prevents
unauthorised access by using something you
know (your user name and password) with
something you have (your phone) to authenticate
who is gaining access.
Enrolment for MFA is a mandatory step for
everyone who uses a Morrison Telecom Services
laptop or desktop, and not enrolling can lead to
you being unable to access company systems.
The upgrade to Microsoft Office 2016 and the
installation of MFA is happening concurrently
as they help us support our clients, as well as
showing we take security of information seriously.
User guides can be found on TELNET. If you
experience any difficulty with either application,
please do not hesitate to contact the IT
Service desk.
