Expanding Works with Openreach
Openreach have announced the next wave of plans for their Fibre First programme,
with five new cities being added to the growing list – Chelmsford, Thanet, Worthing,
West Lothian and Ayrshire.
As part of the planned work, Morrison
Telecom Services will be mobilising across
the cities on six exchanges, covering over
150,000 total homes passed (THP).
This increases the current footprint of
Morrison Telecom Services who are currently
working on Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) in
Edinburgh, Manchester and Nottingham, as
well as the exchanges won in Cumbersome
cities.
It will take about one year to complete the
current wave of digital infrastructure, and if
successful, more work could follow in the future.
The expansion is in line with the commitment
set by the government to increase the
coverage of FTTP across the UK, by 2025.
It is hoped that the installations will provide
reliable and future-proof service for homes
and businesses.
It is an exciting, increasing
work stream nationally and is a
massive opportunity for Morrison
Telecom Services to deliver for our
customer. This will increase the
number of teams currently working
on fibre cities which will continue
to grow.
