Virgin Media
appoints Avonline
for ‘Project Lightning’ ultrafast broadband programme
Avonline Networks has been appointed by
Virgin Media to deliver a Fibre-to-the-Premises
(FTTP) based network in the South West of
England, Wales and North East England.
The work packages will form part of the
latest phase of Virgin Media’s ‘Project
Lightning’ expansion programme and
cover up to 70,000 homes. Virgin Media is
expanding its FTTP network across the UK,
bringing top average speeds of 516Mbps to
more residential and business customers.
The programme of works will require the
installation of approximately 700km of fibre
network from January to December 2020
and is scheduled to be followed by similar
volumes through to and including 2023.

Construction & Delivery at Virgin Media,

ultrafast broadband network across the
