Telecom News Issue 2 - Flipbook - Page 3
Hello and welcome to the latest issue of Telecom
News.
We’ve had a very busy and successful six months.
The acquisition of Avonline Networks earlier
this year has broadened the Division’s scope of
capability, and we are well positioned to benefit
from the growth opportunities that the market will
bring.
This issue also brings news of significant contract
wins including Avonline’s selection by Virgin
Media to deliver a FTTP-based network in Wales
and the South West and North East of England.
Meanwhile, Magdalene has secured a new client,
CenturyLink, and further contract wins with UK
Power Networks and Openreach.
Look out, too, for the update on Fusion 2020, a
Group-wide project to introduce Oracle Cloud as
a fully-integrated Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) system. Oracle Cloud will replace several
existing HR, payroll and finance systems across
the Group, providing the benefit of a modern,
efficient system that can support our continued
growth.
The next decade will see the UK’s most significant
development of next-generation network
expansion programmes since the original BT
copper build. This development, driven by
growing business and consumer demand for
ultrafast broadband, as well as public policy and
government incentives, will present many exciting
opportunities. We are taking advantage of this by
actively tendering for significant opportunities with
existing clients such as Openreach, Virgin Media,
CityFibre and with new clients in the Mobile and
Private Networks sector.
Finally, my thanks go to each of you for your
continued hard work, commitment and impressive
focus on delivering an outstanding safety
performance. Your contribution is key to renewing
existing business and winning new contracts.
Please all ensure that you continue to stay safe.
