High praise for Morrison Telecom Services help with
fibre project
A Morrison Telecom Services team has been praised for its part in a
customer-funded fibre project in Lavington Park, West Sussex.
The work consisted of over 300m of duct work and 700m of cabling
work that had to be completed in a challenging 15-day window.
George Lovell, Senior Engineering Programme Manager at Openreach,
said: “Morrison Telecom Services Project Manager John Vernon
and Coordinator Craig Sampson did a fantastic job to ensure all time scales were met while
maintaining high-quality standards”.
George himself also received positive feedback from the director of a company with premises in
Lavington Park. Robert Rainbow said: “Thank you for the efforts that you and your team made to
ensure the successful delivery of this Community Fibre Partnership on time.
“Morrison Telecom Services was extremely tolerant of our constant enquiries and several of our
residents made very favourable comments on the efficiency and quality of the groundworks. Our
thanks for your infinite patience and understanding.”

MTS completes diversion works
Road works
The Morrison Telecom Services
Openreach team based in Bootle recently
completed BT diversion works on the
new road link from Heyhouses Lane
to Whitehills Roundabout in Lytham St
Anne’s.
The project centred on the re-cabling of
5.5km along Wild Lane and took seven
months of careful planning with local land
agents and councillors. Over 1,800 metres
of two-way BT duct was directional drilled
every 100m due to the poor state of the
carriageway.
The project was completed six weeks
ahead of schedule, minimising the
inconvenience for road users in the area.

Mark Bradley, Telecom Supervisor
for BT Operations in the North West,
commented: “The project is complete
and went really well. Special thanks go
to Openreach Planner David Wright and
the teams who carried out the civils and
directional drilling works.
“Our planning brought the completion
of the project forward six weeks earlier
than first estimated, meaning the public
was never inconvenienced longer than
planned. Regular meetings took place
throughout which was key for all parties
to deliver an early completion and the
councils involved with the project were
very happy.”
