Contract Insight - Hampshire
Hampshire Highways won the 8Contribution To The Community9 Award at last
year's Hampshire Business Awards. The team were recognised for their
wide-ranging initiatives and commitment to supporting those from hard-to-reach
backgrounds. This included the relationships built with five local charities which
were voted to support by teams across each of the areas in which the local
teams work.
Hampshire Highways participated in 8
Get Inspired: Basingstoke & Test
Valley9, a Science, Technology,
Engineering and Maths (STEM) fair in
February 2023. Through this event, the
team gave over 500 secondary school
students an insight into what it9s like to
work as part of the highways service.
Students were

invited to name two of Hampshire
Highways gritter lorries at this event,
giving the team a chance to visit
them in the months following and
extend this learning opportunity.
The two winning names were 8Elvis
Spreadsley9 and 8Grit of Thrones9.
