Case Study: Three Yorkshire Peaks
On 16 September, 28 Milestone
employees took part in the Yorkshire
Three Peaks challenge, travelling up
the night before and returning the
day after.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge
was a demanding but rewarding
24 mile walk, which takes in the
summits of Pen-y-ghent (694 metres 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723
metres 2,372 feet) all in one circular
route. The Cambridgeshire Highways
Service team members raised funds
for East Anglia9s Children9s Hospices
(EACH), the contract9s charity of
choice for 2023/24.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Case Study: STEM Takeover Day
Raising awareness of what we do, over 30
colleagues took over Bishops Waltham School,
Hampshire, for a STEM takeover day. Activities
ranged from 8the importance of soil9 with our
Environmental Advisors, to our projects team
giving the pupils hands-on experience in
infrastructure by working to build bridges using
Lego. The pupils also got to see a gritter and
one of our innovative pothole repairing
machines, a Dragon Patcher, in action.
