This year’s Welcome Week for the class of 2027 was a huge success. Welcome
Week is traditionally the last phase of orientation for incoming freshmen. The
activities hosted this year included seminars, parties, and gatherings at spots
such as the UREC and parade grounds. The annual Residential Hall Association
Foam Party, hosted on Tower Drive outside the Student Union, was a big hit
among students. This nighttime event hosted hundreds of freshmen in the
presence of loud music and bubbles! Another fan favorite was the Welcome
Week carnival. Located in the commuter lot adjacent to Tiger Stadium, this
event featured carnival type rides, a mechanical bull, and Cajun cuisine.
The purpose of Welcome Week is to welcome new students and make their
transition to campus as easy as possible. It is a great way to make lifelong
friends, and it shows all the opportunities available at LSU.
