LSU has created an LGBTQ+ Center on campus to provide a welcoming
space for the LGBTQ community. Located in Coates Hall room 175, the
center serves as a hub for connection and support. Students can use the
center for studying, socializing, and accessing resources, including LGBTQfocused books and assistance from knowledgeable peers. The center
collaborates with LGBTQ student organizations, community partners, and
LGBTQ faculty and staff to host various events throughout the semester.
Its mission is to create a safe and inclusive environment, promote gender
equity, and celebrate LGBTQ+ identities. The center’s operating hours are
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and students can stay updated on programs
and resources through the Women’s Center and LGBTQ+ Project’s social
media and website.
