FLYING TIGERSThe LSU Air Force ROTC, also known as the Flying Tigers, is aprogram for students interested in a career in the Air Force. Itfocuses on leadership development, aerospace education,and preparation for becoming an Air Force officer. Areas offocus include the General Military Course (GMC) for freshmenand sophomores, introducing them to the Air Force’s values,and the Professional Officer Course (POC) for juniors and seniors,emphasizing Air Force operations. On March 1st, a helicoptersquadron from Wyoming’s Air Force visited LSU for a recruitmentevent. During the event, the squadron provided helicopter ridesto LSU Air Force ROTC cadets, allowing them to experience aflight over LSU’s campus and Baton Rouge.178
