Richárd Osváth was born in 1985 in
Satu Mare, Romania. He started fencing under the
guidance of Éva Lengyel and Attila File at the fairly
young age of 9. During a friendly football match,
he became paralysed in his right leg, but that did
not keep him away from competitive sports: so far,
he has attended three Paralympics, winning three
silver and one bronze medal in total.
