HUNGARIAN PARASPORT DAY
“Being disabled does not mean being defeated!”
e Hungarian National Assembly unanimously adopted the five-party initiative of the
Committee on Cultural Affairs at its meeting in 12 December 2017. A national day was
appointed for Hungarian sports, parasports and school sports and, aer approving the
proposed amendments, Hungarian deaf sports. Since then, we celebrate Hungarian
Parasport Day every year on 22 February. is date is symbolic, because on this day in
1970, the Olivér Halassy Sports Association of the Disabled was established in the Motion Correction Institution and Students’ Residence.
