Since 1989, Special Olympics Hungary has been planning, organising and arranging the regular training
and competition programmes for people with mild, moderate and severe intellectual disabilities, and
multiple disabilities.
Special Olympics Hungary organises countless events from regional competitions to preparations for
the Winter and Summer World Games. e organisation regularly holds seminars for coaches, and
its representatives, who regularly attend international specialist courses, aim to promote the Special
Olympics movement to the wider public in Hungary.

Special Olympians to compete in 21 sports.
It organises more than 80 national competitions every year. e professionals at Special Olympics Hungary are incessantly working on providing the opportunity for people with intellectual disabilities to
become their best, develop their physical fitness and demonstrate their courage and talent.
e organisation helps and encourages athletes, and opens society’s eyes to the
fact that with our help, Special Olympians can live life to the fullest extent while
achieving creditable accomplishments.
