For service to ALS families, excellence in
fundraising and generating awareness for
Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Live Like Lou introduced the Triple Crown honor
for Phi Delta Theta chapters in 2022 to honor
chapters who excel in meaningful engagement in
support of our mission. In MLB, the Triple Crown
is one of the most dif昀椀cult feats, as a player must
lead either the American League or National
League in batting average, home runs, and RBIs.
Only 14 players have ever achieved the batting
Triple Crown, including our favorite player, Lou
Gehrig, who won the Triple Crown in 1934.
During the 2023-24 school year, Phi Delta
Theta chapters collectively raised $1,227,550 in
support of the Live Like Lou Foundation and Iron
Phi. The total amount raised represents a 29
percent increase from the prior year’s total,
showing great momentum in the efforts to
leave ALS better than we found it and develop
philanthropists within its ranks. Funds raised
provide support for families affected by ALS,
advance ALS research, and increase awareness
for the disease.
