ALS FAMILY
SUPPORT
2023-24
TEAM HILLIARD
FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIP
Thanks to a partnership with the Team
Hilliard Foundation, $15,000 in home
improvement grants were made to
families in/around Atlanta, Georgia.
Team Hilliard is named in honor
of Jim Hilliard who passed away
from ALS in September of 2021.
Just a few months before his
anticipated retirement and dream
of perfecting his golf game, he was
diagnosed with ALS. As a family who
knows 昀椀rsthand how devastating it is to
live with ALS, his wife and children launched
the Team Hilliard Foundation to support ALS
organizations devoted to supporting
research, treatments, and families
affected by Lou Gehrig’s disease.
The Live Like Lou Foundation
is honored to be one of the
bene昀椀ciaries of their work in the
ALS community.
Jim’s son Sam was a
昀椀nalist for the Lou Gehrig
Memorial Award when he was
playing for the Atlanta Braves in 2023.
An out昀椀elder, Sam now plays for the
Colorado Rockies and his family’s support of Live
Like Lou and the ALS community continues.

HOLIDAY RESPITE
GRANTS
Our registered ALS families are able to
receive a special gift each year as we
send them a $100 VISA gift card during
the holidays. Families are able to use
them in any way that is helpful to them
with no obligation on their part. It is our
hope that the small token of support
giVes our ALS families a sense of
community.
We can’t cure ALS (yet), but we can
leave our mighty families better than ALS
found them with a $100 VISA gift card to
help spread some joy during the holidays.
These holiday respite grants are made
possible by our generous donors.
