Summer Fun at Bannatyne Lodge
The young people from Sunderland AFC
Founda?on Na?onal Ci?zen Service paid a
welcome visit to Bannatyne Lodge Care
Home during the Summer. The students
had decided to do their community project
at our home and in the process impressed
everyone with their dedica?on. The
teenagers revamped the garden furniture,
weeded and replanted ower beds and
enjoyed engaging in (socially distanced)
intergenera?onal ac?vi?es with residents.
Thank you so much to you all for your
community-minded kindness team.
In other news, residents had a great Tme
making Izzy jellies and ice cubes for
NaTonal Prosecco Day. First they made the
jelly with crystals and a bit of hot water,
then they topped up the mix with their
favourite bubbly. Once the jellies had set in
the fridge residents decorated the top with
fresh cream and sprinkles. Resident Freda
said, “Who doesn’t like a bit of Izz in their
lives? The jellies were delicious but next
Tme I’m going to add a bit more bubbly!”
