Charity relocated to a larger store in Peterlee
CT Furniture have moved and their new
store can now be found in the Castle Dene
Shopping Centre in Peterlee. The charity
$rst opened its doors in the town last year
and has created several new jobs and
numerous volunteer opportuni?es in the
local community.
The new charity furniture store brings
quality preHloved, vintage, anTque and
repurposed furniture to the town. It opened
its doors 13TH August and is one of four
North East developments for the charity,
with others based in Newcastle, Blyth and
the newest store in Gateshead. CT Furniture
has already caused quite an impact on the
Peterlee community, with the Mayor,
Councillor Terry Du6y, visiTng the previous
store in October 2020.
Paul Dodd, CT Furniture’s Retail and
Business Development manager, said: “We
are delighted to be able to conTnue trading
in Peterlee in our new premises. Our stores
are stocked with items ranging from small
electrical appliances through to beds, sofas,
wardrobes all available at a6ordable prices,
so helping individuals and families to furnish
their homes. We also now stock new
furniture items for the dining room and
bedroom.”

CT Furniture Peterlee is now open on the
Castle Dene Shopping Centre.
He conTnued: “We are a naTonal Charity
that provides a6ordable high quality preH
owned furniture to the public. Our aim is to
encourage furniture reHuse and reduce
items going to landIll by collecTng reHusable
furniture and electrical items free of charge
from local residents.”
All surplus funds raised through the sale of
generously donated furniture are used by
the charity to help support its eet of CT
Passenger minibuses, who transport people
with mobility issues or take those isolated
for their shopping. In the North East, the
depot for CT Passenger is based in
Newcastle, and in 2020, the eet completed
over 2,000 passenger trips, covering over
12,000 miles.
The charity has a number of volunteer
opportuniTes and are always looking for
help from those who have Tme and are
looking to make a di6erence in the local
community. In return, volunteers gain workH
based skills that can help when it comes to
Inding a job. There is also the opportunity
to meet new friends and be part of
something worthwhile.
